Emily spilled sugar everywhere… you know how I found out? she said “up” i put her on my lap then she said “toe” and i touched her toes and felt the sugar, turned around and saw it all over our floor. Well, I was sad that I had to sweep it up, but I was happy that she knew how to use her words to let me know. :D
At 17 months, she can say at least 50 words (I stopped counting after 30ish, and it seems like she learns a new word or two every day.). The most recent ones include: “Happen?” (for what happened?) and “tree!” and “raaass” (grass). :)
She also likes to mimic us. Tim got her to mimic him fake-sneezing. Check it out:
:)
Love our little girl so much!! <3
April 1st marked Emily’s 16th month. That day, she decided she was going to sit on a chair and read to herself :)
Emily walked up to me with a napkin in hand and said, “Uh oh.” I turned around to see what she dropped and saw this. This happened after I cleaned off her food, spilled milk, water, and pee off the floor today. Hello, days with a toddler. Thank goodness she’s cute. I’ll post a pic or two soon, or you can follow my instagram @jogillian
Emily blows kisses :)
Emily was playing while I was watching Bones, and when I looked away from the TV and gazed upon my daughter, I saw her holding her sippy upside down and a puddle of milk on the floor. I called her using my stern, disciplinarian-Mom voice: “Emily!”
She jumped. Immediately, she walked towards me, handing me her sippy cup, flashing a smile, and said, “HI!” ever-so-cutely, multiple times. It was a challenge not to just smile back. I said, “Yes. Hi, you’re very cute, but you made a mess.”
I went to get our cleaning cloth, put it beside the puddle of milk, looked at her, and said, “Okay, now you gotta clean it up, please.” She put her toy down, bent down, took the cloth, and wiped the puddle away. “You’re such a good girl, sweetie!” I said, as I gave her a kiss, and proudly walked away straight to the computer to blog this moment of when Emily learned to charm and clean.
“You can’t just charm your way through life.” - A lesson Tim and I still try (and struggle) to remember.
Mind you, she knows how to wipe stuff, but she doesn’t know how to put her toys away. I think that’s okay, given she’s only 14 months. :) So proud and amazed at my daughter!
Happy 14 months out of the womb, little darling. :-) Mommy & Daddy love you so much! You have brought us so much joy!
My daughter is pushing her head against mine with all her might. Her way of snuggling is with head-butts, thanks to her daddy.
She is 13 months old, my sweet & sassy one. :-) Love this girl to bits and little tiny pieces!!!!
Emily enjoying the High Park Family Fun Place :-) She especially enjoyed her first time on the slide!!!
Lately, Emily has been saying some half-discernible phrases, including “Asdat??” (What’s that?) and “Asdisss?” (What’s this?).
Today, as she curiously looked at the laptop that was on our table (usually in our bedroom floor), she asked ever-so-cutely and ever-so-CLEARLY: “What’s this?”
:) I’m a proud momma.
